DES MOINES — Iowa church cookbooks provided the recipes used in the Our Iowa Church Cookbook Favorites competition at the 2018 Iowa State Fair. Phyllis Olson of Newton, earned third place.
Entrants were challenged to prepare a recipe from an Iowa church cookbook using ingredients from an Iowa garden. Entries were judged on taste, appearance, creativity and recipe origin.
