Fudge awarded by Iowa Community Theatre Association

The Newton Community Theatre, performers and crew were honored at the Iowa Community Theatre Convention in Webster City.

Conor Fudge received Awards of Excellence as Lead Actor in a Musical: Judas in “Jesus Christ Superstar” from the 2017 Iowa Community Theatre Association.

Many other Newton Community Theatre players were named finalists in several different categories. Those finalists were:

• Supporting Actress in a Play: Mikey Carter — “A High Country Christmas”

• Supporting Actress in a Play: Dione Riley – “A High Country Christmas”

• Ensemble in a Play: “Girls Weekend” cast

• Lead Actor in a Musical: Will Edgar — “Jesus Christ Superstar”

• Lead Actress in a Musical: Adrianne Fazel — “Jesus Christ Superstar”

• Direction: Sue Beukema — “Jesus Christ Superstar”

• Costume Design: Sue Beukema — “Jesus Christ Superstar”

• Music Direction: Cathi Wickett — “Jesus Christ Superstar”
