EDDYVILLE — The Prairie City-Monroe and Baxter girls’ track and field teams both earned victories at the EBF Girls Invitational on Thursday night.

The Mustangs won the 4x100 relay with a season-best time, and Baxter senior Sailor Hinegardner picked up another win in the 100-meter hurdles.

Complete results were not available at press time.

PCM had one win and four second-place finishes on the night. The Mustangs finished third in the team standings with 76 points. Baxter (69) and Lynnville-Sully (61) were fourth and fifth, respectively.

North Polk won the meet with 115 points. The Comets edged North Cedar by four points. The meet featured 12 varsity and three JV teams.

“It was nice to finally get some decent weather to compete in tonight,” PCM coach Bridget Martin said. “We also were able to compete against great teams, which is always good when you are looking to improve your times and distances.”

That foursome included sophomores Sierra Foster and Lexi Kuecker, freshman Margo Chipps and senior Ashley Miller.
