• TPI Newton will be manufacturing mass transit bus bodies for Proterra. Team members are being trained in Rhode Island with Newton to have 109 direct labor jobs in 2018 (eventually ramping up to 350 jobs by end of 2019).
• Newton Manufacturing building has sold. Newton Elite Properties, LLC has purchased the building and will close on Dec. 4.

• Gate Company which purchased Atlas Hydraulics will be hiring 100 people by the end of the year.

• Excavation has begun at Cardinal Ridge for the first single family home.
• Global Fiberglass has begun hiring people and collecting the soon to be recycled, wind blades in preparation for beginning its process of grinding the old blades.
• Newton Development Corporation is looking at Home Base Iowa veterans that are specifically interested in Jasper County, by better utilizing features within the HBI website.
• The Lighted Christmas Parade Nov. 24 will have free carriage rides thanks to TPI and Edward Jones.
