• Christopher S. Catron, 23, homeless, was charged with fifth-degree theft at 2:38 p.m. June 27 after police were called to Loves convenience store. A store employee saw Catron remove items from the shelves and then consume them while in the store. Catron said he didn’t have money. Catron was arrested and taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Hayley B. Sholley, 23, of West Branch, was charged with possession of controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia at 10:25 a.m. June 18 after police were called to 11508 Fourth St. N. in reference to a woman sleeping in her vehicle. The female was identified as Sholley. Sholley had quick movements and was cautious. Sholley had a warrant for her arrest for assault in Poweshiek County and she was placed under arrest. During a search of her purse, a green leafy substance was found and a blue pipe container burnt residue smelling of burnt marijuana.
