Van Dyke walked twice and his RBI hit scored senior Noah Clark in the second inning. Clark and senior Braden Phifer had the other hits.

Saydel 8, PCM 1
The Mustangs were held to one hit in a 5-1 HOIC loss to the first-place Eagles on June 16.
PCM used six pitchers but still couldn’t slow down Saydel, which scored five of its runs in the first three innings. It was Saydel’s ninth straight win.

Albia 2, PCM 1
ALBIA — A two-out error in the first inning plagued PCM on June 15 during a nonconference road game against Albia.
The Mustangs plated their only run in the top of the first inning but an error with two outs led to two Albia runs during PCM’s 2-1 loss.
The game was called after PCM was retired in the fifth because of lightning. It will go down in the books as an official game.
PCM defeated Albia 14-3 on June 3 at the Colfax-Mingo tournament. On June 15, the Mustangs had three hits at the plate, two of which were collected by Van Wyk.
In the top of the first, Van Wyk tripled to lead off the game and then scored on a wild pitch. Van Wyk had another hit later in the game and also was intentionally walked. Hill had the Mustangs’ only other hit.
Braden Phifer (2-3) took the loss on the mound despite allowing just one hit. The two runs scored by Albia (4-15) were unearned, and he fanned seven.
