Jasper County Sheriff’s Office
• Remington S. Clark, 26, of Newton, was charged with possession of contraband in a correctional institute at 4:15 p.m. May 9 after members of the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office searched Clark’s cell at the Jasper County Jail. A Jasper County jailer found a plastic bag with crystalline substance as well as a folded up piece of paper that contained a crystalline substance. Both tested positive for methamphetamine and weighed 3 grams.
