The Des Moines Area Community College Foundation awarded $1 million in scholarships to DMACC students during the 2016-17 school year.
More than 1,600 students at DMACC’s six campuses and six learning centers benefitted from this record setting achievement.
“The Foundation’s ability to reach a $1 million scholarship allocation is due to the tireless work of our board of directors and the generosity of our donors who believe in the college’s mission of empowering all students in their pursuit of life’s opportunities and career goals,” said DMACC Foundation Executive Director Tara Connolly. “These scholarships create access to a quality education for students who want career training to enter the workforce or a transfer degree that will prepare them for a four-year college.”
Connolly said the DMACC Foundation also credits DMACC faculty and staff, area businesses and service organizations for the ability to award $1 million in scholarships.
