Russell James Prins, 82, formerly of the Amboy and Hinckley, Minn., areas, left his earthly home Tuesday morning, March 14, 2017, at Oaklawn Rehabilitation Center in Mankato, and entered his heavenly home.

A time of remembrance and celebration of life will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 17 at Grace Baptist Church in Mankato, with a lunch and fellowship time to follow. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. in the Clover Community Cemetery near Hinckley Friday with a coffee and fellowship time to follow at the Clover Community Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left with the family or a charity of your choosing. The Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton have been entrusted with the arrangements.

Russ is survived by his wife Mary of Mankato; his children, Marilyn (Gene) Groeneveld of Newton, Carolyn (Marvin) Nelson, David (Belva) Prins, Cindy (Darrell) Friar and Julie (Steve) Nelson; a son-in-law, Don (Deb) Domeier; his 19 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren; a sister, Viola (Marlin) Kruger; and his many good neighbors and friends

He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-father, Bob Veneklasen; his daughter, Rose Ann Domeier Jan. 19, 2004; his grandson, Leland Nelson Aug. 9, 1995; and a brother, Vernon Prins.
