Newton Police Department
• Rhonda L. Wilson, 48, of Newton, was arrested on a Marshalltown warrant after authorities were called at 1:20 a.m. Saturday to 1453 N. 11th Ave. E. She was taken to the Jasper County Jail.
• Nathaniel A. Kaisand, 26, of Albia, was arrested on an Albia warrant after authorities were called at 3:31 a.m. Sunday to 1022 E. 12th St. N. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.
• Virgil D. Oswalt, 50, of Newton, is charged with simple misdemeanor assault after authorities were called at midnight April 1 to the 700 block of East 14th Street North. Officers spoke with the victim who said she had been slapped by Oswalt because she couldn’t lift up a couch. He was cited and released to appear.
• Kristopher M. Hall, 30, of Waverly, is charged with forgery after authorities were called at 2:32 p.m. April 4 to 121 W. Third St. N. Officers were called to Advantage Credit Union about a counterfeit check. Through interviews and evidence, officers found that Hall deposited checks in his name that were not real in the amount of $3,415. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.
• Brian C. Showalter, 39, of Newton, is charged with driving while license under suspension after authorities pulled him over at 4:11 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of South Eighth Avenue East and East 15th Street South. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Tanya M. Hamilton, 48, of Monroe, is charged with possession of contraband in correctional institution after authorities were called at 3:12 p.m. May 16 to the Jasper County Jail. Hamilton was brought to the jail for driving while license suspended and while being searched officers found a white pill. Hamilton had been told that she was not allowed to bring any substances in with her. She was taken to the Jasper County Jail.
