Newton woman pleads guilty to sexually abusing teen

A Newton woman faces up to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty on Monday to third-degree sexual abuse.

Tori M. Kaiser, 22, was charged in May after confessing to having a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old male victim.

Kaiser was allowed by the victim’s father to act as a caretaker, according to a police report. When she was charged she also admitted to providing the victim with alcohol and cigarettes. She denied giving him marijuana and prescription medication, but admitted she had allowed him to use both in her apartment.

Third-degree sexual abuse is a Class C felony and carries a maximum $10,000 fine and is punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

Kaiser is scheduled to be sentenced at the Jasper County Courthouse on Oct. 12.
