Hawk golfers fall to Sigourney

SIGOURNEY — Playing on another windy and chilly afternoon, Lynnville-Sully’s boys came up short in a South Iowa Cedar League conference goal dual against Sigourney Monday.

Sigourney played its home course just a little better than the Hawks. The Savages posted a 194 team score to the Hawks’ 199 at Sigourney Golf and Country Club.

“The guys have had better nights,” said Bryan De Jong, Lynnville-Sully coach. “We go to Iowa Valley Friday and see if we can get back on track.”

Lynnville-Sully senior Ben Trettin was the medalist, winning a scorecard playoff over Kaden Benson of Sigourney. Both golfers shot a 42.

The Hawks got a 49 from Baker Segars. Kyle Van Dyke and Kolton Fisk each carded a 54. Caleb Jansen came in at 58 while Bayley Morvant and Holden Jansen had a 61 apiece.
