Two men were transported to a Des Moines hospital with injuries following a head-on collision on a gravel road south of Monroe Wednesday night.
A Buick Lasabre driven by 42-year-old Gary Johnston, of Prairie City, collided with a Ford Mustang driven by 21-year-old Cody Chambers, of Hartford, just after 9 p.m. on Carpenter Road, according to the Iowa State Patrol.
The crash report indicates Chambers’ vehicle was in the westbound portion of the roadway near the crest of a hill.
Both Johnston and Chambers were transported to Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines; conditions were not available at press time.
