Newton Police Department

• Logan E. Harlow, 25, of Newton, was arrested on three Jasper County warrants for probation violation after authorities were called to 626 W. Third St. S. at 12:37 p.m. Tuesday. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Brandon R. Hawkins, 19, of Baxter, is charged with fifth-degree criminal mischief after authorities were called to Walmart at 8:55 p.m. Sunday. Officers spoke to the owner of a vehicle that he allegedly punched, leaving a dent. After talking with Hawkins, he admitted to punching the vehicle and a video from Walmart showed him punching it several times, leaving damage. He was cited and released to appear.

• Horal A. Doland, 69, of Newton, is charged with third-degree harassment after authorities were called to 718 S. Second Ave. W. at 4 p.m. Jan. 21. Officers spoke with the victim who alleged she was at Git-N-Go when Doland began talking to her. Her older brother told Doland not to talk to her and Doland told him to shut up. The victim said she is afraid of Doland and officers advised him to leave her along. Officers later found that Doland had been told on previous occasions not to have contact with the victim. He was cited and released to appear and a no-contact order was requested.
