A California man who lured two area teens away from their homes after claiming to be an actor from the “Twilight” movie series has been released into the custody of U.S. Marshals.
David A. LaVera, 33, has been indicted on federal child pornography charges. LaVera was released from the Jasper County Jail on Monday, although multiple state charges are still pending.
LaVera last appeared in court in August where he pleaded not guilty to six charges. He was initially charged June 10 with enticing a minor and carrying weapons after he used his alleged celebrity status to entice the minor to meet him at a park in Baxter.
