Due to the Fourth of July holiday, a number of city offices will be closed Friday, including city hall, police and fire business offices, the library, the parks department office and the public works office.
Newton Sanitary Landfill will be closed Friday; however it will be open from 8 to 11:45 a.m. Saturday, July 5.
Dodd’s Trash Hauling and Recycling Inc. will also be closed Friday. Friday’s residential trash and recycling will instead be picked up Monday, July 7.
