Dennis Scott Ferguson went to be with his Lord on Feb. 25, 2014, after a long hard-fought battle with cancer.
Denny was a kind and loving person who enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, grilling, traveling and spending time with family and friends. Denny graduated from Newton Senior High School in 1972, where he participated in football, track and baseball. He attended college in Arizona and New Mexico. Denny loved going to watch his two favorite teams, the Arizona Cardinals and the University of Arizona Wildcats, with his son, Matt, and wife Jeannie, who is an avid Packer fan.
Denny was born Feb. 18, 1954. He will be greatly missed by all of his family.
He is survived by his wife, Jeannie, who he married on Oct. 16, 2011; his first wife, Joanne; children and grandchildren, Tim (Katie) Ferguson, Samantha, Matt (Nerissa) Ferguson, Renee and Nathan, Tom Ferguson, Angela (Glenn) Balagnas; his step-children and grandchildren, Jack (Jessica) Targaczewski, Vivian and Ty, Paul (Jennifer) DiPietro, Mikailla, Haileigh, Paul, Victoria and Evelynn; his parents, Jack and Irene Ferguson; his brothers and sisters, Jack Jr. (Jean) Ferguson, Karyl (Gail) Engle and Karen (Chris) Bollhoefer, all of Newton, and Steve (Sheryl) Ferguson of Grimes; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Charlotte (Dan) Vander Velden, Sue (Dave) Champeau, Rick (Lori) Counihan, all of Wisconsin; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.

A memorial honoring Denny’s life will be held on Mingus Mountain in Arizona in May.
