Bainbridge to perform in annual Christmas celebration

FOREST CITY— Alexa Bainbridge of Newton will perform at Christmas with Waldorf, an annual weekend of concert performances, at Immanuel Lutheran Church at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7 and 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8.

A celebration of the holiday season, the decades-old tradition showcases Waldorf College’s fine arts department with performances by the Waldorf Choir, Schola Cantorum, Sangkor, and the Waldorf Wind Symphony. Performers include Waldorf students, faculty, and staff, as well as members of the Forest City Community.

“The concert will be an intimate, worshipful experience,” said Choral Director Dr. Adam Luebke. “As in years past, the audience will be able to join in and sing carols such as ‘Hark! The Herald Angels Sing’ and ‘SilentNight.’”

Christmas with Waldorf: Angels Sing with Joy tickets cost $5 and are available by calling (641) 585-8724 or visiting the Immanuel LutheranChurch office. Tickets will also be available at the door before each performance.

Before each concert, a Scandinavian meal will be served in the Waldorf College Atrium. Dinner will be served from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7. Tickets for both the meal and concert cost $20 each. Brunch will be served on Sunday, Dec. 8, from noon to 2 p.m. Brunch and concerttickets are $17, while brunch-only tickets are $12. Tickets for the Scandinavian dinner or brunch must be purchased in advance by calling (641) 585-8724 or at the Immanuel Lutheran Church office.
