Academic Achievements

AIB College of Business

Kayla Vanderlaan of Newton has been named to the dean’s list at AIB College of Business for the Summer 2013 term.

“I am always pleased to see such a high level of scholastic achievement in our students,” said Dr. Susan Cigelman, vice president for academic affairs at AIB. “By challenging themselves in the classroom and making the most of the educational opportunities offered at AIB, they are sure to be well-prepared to build their careers in the business world.”

To qualify for the dean’s list, Vanderlaan attained a grade point average of 3.5 to 3.79 for the term. Vanderlaan is earning an Associate in applied science degree in sports and event management at AIB.

Marshalltown Community College

Jason Allen Scull of Lynnville has successfully completed his degree work in the machine tool technology trades practitioner program and graduated with honors, a 3.5 cumulative GPA or higher after the spring semester of 2013.

Krysta Reed Van Maanen of Lynnville has successfully completed her degree work in dental assisting after the spring semester of 2013.

Indian Hills Community College

The following local students received a degree, diploma or certificate at the end of the summer term at Indian Hills Community College.
