Golden Agers Club
Wednesday, July 17, the Golden Agers Club met for its monthly meeting at the Salvation Army fellowship room. The club’s guest for the afternoon get-together was Bev Edge.
Lunch was provided by the Salvation Army, and by Bob and Carmen Vander Leest, consisting of angel food cake, fresh strawberries and whipped cream. Soft, non-kernel popped corn, in white and also cheese, and green and black iced tea were also served.
Following the dessert luncheon, President Carmen Vander Leest called the meeting to order. Secretary-Treasurer read the minutes of the June meeting.
Margaret Bailey read jokes, which were enjoyed by all, and Bonnie Swalwell Eilert also read several articles. Dorothy Pinkett and Bob Vander Leest both celebrated birthdays.
Bev Edge, secretary-treasurer of Senior Citizens, spoke about wanting the Golden Agers Club to join with Senior Citizens. A motion was made that as of August 2013, it will join with Senior Citizens.
