If you take exit 155 off I-80 and head north, you will run smack dab into Colfax Tractor Parts.
The family-owned business sits on 60 acres of land and has all makes and models of any type of tractor part one could want.
The store has everything from antique Allis-Chalmers tractors to modern John Deere models. CTP also has so many rare parts that they have a customer base around the world and ship worldwide.
Parts specialist Alan Gillaspy explained that the business has shipped to Australia, parts of Africa and Central America as well as numerous other places. CTP is able to do so because of the immense supply of parts they have and the up-to-date website which showcases their constantly fluctuating stock.
Web customers aren’t the only ones who benefit from CTP’s 60 acres: customers who show up to the store, located at 10477 Field Avenue in Colfax, are treated to fair prices and can take part in the pick-and-pull nature that the store presents. Customers are allowed to roam most of the 60 acres to search for whatever parts they need.
CTP wants people to know that it has more than just salvage tractor parts. CTP has both antique and late model farm-ready tractors for sell as well as combines, harvesters and other farm equipment. The store has such a vast portfolio — they also sell used late-model cars.
CTP has been around since 1988 and has 15 full-time and part-time employees. They are open seven days a week, Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. until 5:30 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
