Kimberly Woody and Jake Whalen of Newton announce the birth of their son, Kash Michael Whalen, on Aug. 4, 2012, at Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines.
Kash weighed 8.2 pounds and was 22 inches in length. He has two siblings, Ava Simpson, 1, and Kaiden Hart, 5.
Grandparents are Cindy Shah of Philadelphia, Pa., and LuAnn Whalen of Round Rock, Texas.
Great-Grandparent is Charlotte Whalen of Newton.
