Amanda Shipley and Ian Barnes, formerly of Newton, announce their engagement and upcoming wedding.
Amanda is the daughter of Blair and Carmie Shipley of Newton. She graduated from Newton Senior High School in 2004, from the University of Northern Iowa with an undergraduate degree in accounting in 2008 and from UNI with a master’s degree in accounting in 2009. She is a certified public accountant and senior associate for McGladrey, LLP in Cedar Rapids.
Ian is the son of Jay and Lyn Barnes of Newton. He graduated from Newton Senior High School in 2003 and is employed as an associate for Whirlpool in Amana.
Their wedding is set for July 28, 2012.
