Steve Van Dyke, P.E. and principal with FOX Engineering Associates, Inc. in Ames has been granted certification in the specialty of Water Supply and Wastewater and inducted into the American Academy of Environmental Engineers (AAEE). The Academy’s Board of Trustees has conferred the distinction of Board Certified Environmental Engineer (BCEE).
Van Dyke is the youngest engineer ever to receive this distinction in Iowa where there are only seven non-academic BCEEs – three are principals at FOX Engineering. Two other BCEEs retired from FOX in recent years.
New Board Certified Environmental Engineers approved included 102 new BCEEs here in the U.S. and Puerto Rico.
Engineers with this distinction are considered to be “… among the Best of the Best.” Through the certification program of the Academy, the BCEE credential is given only to those individuals who are motivated through personal commitment and support of their employer to continuing professional development and advancement, and to ethical engineering practice and professionalism.
Van Dyke holds degrees from Iowa State University — a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and a Masters in Civil / Environmental Engineering. He began at FOX in 1998 with experience in civil and environmental engineering.
Van Dyke, a 1991 graduate of Newton Senior High School, resides in Ames with his wife, Wendy, a 1993 graduate of Newton Senior High School, and their three children. His parents, Allen and Barbara Van Dyke, live in Newton.
