Roseva S. Rucker, 89, of Newton died on Sunday, Aug. 28, 2011, at the Skiff Hospice Monarch Wing in Newton.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, at the First Christian Church, 314 E. Second St. N. in Newton. The family will greet friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton.
Memorials to Skiff Hospice, the First Christian Church or the Jasper County Historical Museum may be left at the funeral home or at the church on the morning of the memorial service. If you are mailing the memorial to the funeral home please add Attn: Rucker Family to the envelope.
Roseva had been the secretary and then director of the Jasper County Historical Museum for five years, retiring in 1987. In her earlier working career she had worked at the Jasper County Savings Bank and Thombert Inc.
Survivors include her two daughters, Diane Dafflitto of Newton and Patricia Cooper (Richard Perlberg) of Johnston; four grandchildren, Dana (Stacy) Simbro of Newton, Dane (Mary) Dafflitto of Newton, T. Scott (Robyn) Cooper of Ankeny and Brian A. Cooper of Urbandale; two step-grandchildren, Amanda (Brent) Nickell of Urbandale, and Brian (Christy) Perlberg of Davenport; her nine great-grandchildren, Elizabeth D. and Sean M. Simbro, Tyler D. and Jerica T. Dafflitto, Davis and Devin Cooper, Hayley and Braden Cooper, and Andrew Nickell.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Herb, in 1986.
