D. Everett Eide

Donald Everett Eide of Radcliffe, Iowa, went to meet his Savior on his 87th birthday, July 20, 2011, at the Hubbard Care Center in Hubbard, Iowa.

A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 23, 2011, at the Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Radcliffe with the Rev. DeWayne Teig officiating.  Interment will follow in the Radcliffe Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the church.

Donald Everett Eide was born July 20, 1924, to Archie and Agnes (Bly) Eide at his parent’s farm in Radcliffe, Iowa. He was baptized on Aug. 10, 1924, and confirmed on Sept. 18, 1938, at Bethany Lutheran Church. Everett attended country school through eighth grade.

On May 6, 1945, Everett was united in marriage to Darlene R. Bossard at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hubbard, Iowa. The couple had four sons: Dale, Donn, Dean and Daryl. He was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Radcliffe.

During his lifetime, Everett was self-employed for many years. He also worked for Johnson Oil and Farmers Coop Elevator, both in Radcliffe and for Hardin County.

Family was very important to Everett. He truly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed attending auctions and antiquing.

Everett is survived by his wife Darlene; sons, Dale (Ann) Eide of Chariton, Donn (Debbie) Eide of Newton, Dean (Sarah) of Hubbard and Daryl (Melanie) of Radcliffe; 11 grandchildren, Wyatt Eide, Abigail (Jason) Thompson, Shane Eide, Desiree Gabert, Dustin (Michelle) Eide, Darin (Meghann) Eide, Jess (Erin) Eide, Molly (Matthew) Schroeder, Marty (Kris) Eide, Luke Eide and Kyla Eide; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Florence Harms; brother-in-law, Bill Bond; sister-in-law, Marie Bossard; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Agnes Eide; brother, Clarence Eide; sister, Dorothy Bond; brothers-in-law, Karl Harms, Frank Flanders, Bill  Corbell, Lawrence Bossard, Harold Bossard and Edward (Rusty) Bossard; sister-in-law, Phyllis Bossard; and his nephews, niece and great-nephew.

Boeke Funeral Home in Radcliffe is in charge of arrangements.
