Author visits TJ

Ryan Sloth, Iowa children’s author and former Iowa State University and Iowa Barnstormers football player, visited students at Thomas Jefferson on Monday morning to promote his book, “Sammy Sloth: Sport Superstar.”

“They’re super slow,” Sloth told a group of kindergarteners of his namesake animal. “They’re the slowest animals on earth.” Which is why he made the hero of his book a sloth, an animal who tries out for sports and faces struggles along the way until he finds his niche. The purpose of the book is to teach kids to never give up.
