Lee Alverson, an Elton John impersonator, will headline Monroe’s 2010 Old Settlers the evening of Saturday, Aug. 14. The show will begin at 8:15 p.m. in the park on the square.

Alverson does an Elton John impersonation playing live piano and singing his Elton John Tribute. Seating is limited, so attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs if possible.

Endorsed by Hercules: The International Elton John Fan Club, Alverson has become America’s Premier Elton John Impersonator. His performance has been described as “Unbelievable!” and “So close, it’s scary!” Lee has also been rated the #1 Elton John Impersonator in the world by United Tribute Artist International.

Platform shoes, extravagant costumes, wild glasses, outstanding singing, musicianship and showmanship make his show a “must see” for anyone who has enjoyed the great talent of Elton John.

Regularly featured in the stage productions Superstars in Concert, Legendary Superstars, Starz on Stage and British Legends, Alverson performs over 175 shows a year for clients such as Coca-Cola, Homeland Security Director Tom Ridge, US Airways, Verizon, Bayer and American International. In addition, he has opened for superstars such as Barry Manilow and the Beach Boys. He also continues to perform at festivals, casinos, fairs and other corporate functions across the country.

Alversion’s piano playing, voice, charisma and stage antics are vintage Elton John. By showcasing over three decades of Elton John’s music and ever-changing appearance, Lee is able to entertain an audience in a way that captures the true excitement of a “real” Elton John concert.

The concert will be in conjunction with Monroe’s 114th annual Old Settlers celebration. The event is free and begins the evening of Friday, Aug. 13, and is all day on Saturday, Aug. 14.
