Nicholas John Vasquez and Josey Lyn Bledsoe were united in marriage on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2009. Officiating at the service was the Rev. William E. Reynolds, pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Newton.
Parents of the couple are Andy and Jennifer Bledsoe of Gladbrook and Dan and Sally Vasquez of Newton.
Mandy Swenson, friend of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids, all friends of the bride, were Alyssa Stensrud, Karen McKee, Myriah Fields and Amanda Steffen. Jaleea McConnell, cousin of the groom, was the flower girl. Lynda Desroiser, a friend of the bride, was personal attendant to the bride.
Craig Vasquez served as his brother’s best man. Carver Vasquez, son of the groom, was the junior best man. Groomsmen, all friends of the groom, were Steve Keller, Bethany Ham, Steven Hiracheta and Tyler Wood. Cael Vasquez-Smith, nephew of the groom, was the ring bearer. Ushers were Jordan Bledsoe, brother of the bride, and Kyle Boley, friend of the couple.
Selected scripture passages were read by Kari Vasquez, sister of the groom, and Craig Vasquez, brother of the groom. Guestbook attendants were Alicia Springer and Sarina Springer, both friends of the bride. Tom Netzel provided musical arrangements for the ceremony.
A dinner and dance took place at the Christian Conference Center following the wedding ceremony.
The bride is a 2003 graduate of Gladbrook-Reinbeck High School. She attended Ellsworth Community College and Buena Vista University, obtaining a bachelor’s degree in human resource management in 2007. She is employed by Hy-Vee.
The groom is a 2000 graduate of Newton Senior High School. He attended Des Moines Area Community College and the University of Northern Iowa. He is a market management trainee with Fareway.
Following a honeymoon in Cancun, the couple made their residence in North Liberty.
