Newton’s Garrett signs with Northwestern College tennis
Cardinal senior didn’t look at any other schools

Newton senior Lauryn Garrett signed with the Northwestern College tennis team on Thursday. "I was looking at the school before I knew I wanted to play because of the Christian community," Garrett said. "That’s important to me. I originally wasn’t going to play tennis, but I knew I would miss it a lot." Garrett was joined at her signing by her father Chris Garrett, her mother Carrie Garrett and her sister Analise Garrett. She plans to major in Biology Heath Professions and minor in Spanish. She will go through Northwestern's Physician’s assistant graduate program. "I didn't consider any other schools. I made one visit to Northwestern," Garrett said. "I like the campus. The set-up is really nice. It’s all really close. They integrate faith into every single class, too." (Troy Hyde/Newton News)
