Marilyn L. Gibson Gaylor, 85, died Friday, Jan. 10, 2020, surrounded by the love of her family at Park Centre in Newton.
Marilyn’s memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 17 at the First United Methodist Church, 210 N. Second Ave. E. in Newton. The family will greet friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service Friday, Jan. 17 at the church. They will also greet friends immediately following the memorial service with a lunch at the church.
Burial will be at a later date at the Newton Union Cemetery in Newton.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the First United Methodist Church. Memorials may be left at the church on the morning of the service or at the Wallace Family Funeral Home. If you are mailing the memorial to the funeral home please add, Attn: Gaylor Family on the envelope.
Those left to cherish Marilyn’s memory are her husband, James of Newton; children, Douglas J. (Lisa) Gaylor of Shrub Oak, N.Y., Ann D. (David) Rucker of Staunton, Ill., Robert D. Gaylor (Cassandra) of Ithaca, N.Y., and Kenneth A. (Laura) Gaylor of Avendale, Pa.; her eight grandchildren, David J. (Kristie) Rucker of Staunton, Ill., Bryan R. (Amanda) Rucker of New Douglas, Ill., Kellie L. Rucker of Williamsville, Ill., Cassandra P. Gaylor of Shrub Oak, N.Y., Logan Gaylor of Shrub Oak, N.Y., Reese A. Gaylor of Avendale, Pa., James D. “JD” Gaylor of Avendale, Pa., and Taavo Gaylor of Ithaca, N.Y.; two great-grandchildren, Jeffrey James “JJ” Rucker of Staunton, Ill., and Joleigh A. Rucker of Staunton, Ill.; her brother, George “Bud” (Sally) Gibson of Indianola; brother-in-law, David (Jill) Gaylor of Eureka Springs, Ark.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Jack Gibson.
