Newton Police Department

• Wille J. Dolly, 39, of Newton, was charged with domestic abuse at 3:15 p.m. Aug. 26 in the 100 block South Third Avenue West. According to the Newton Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 100 block of South Third Avenue West in reference to a physical domestic fight. Dolly and the victim were in a civil child custody dispute and Dolly pushed the victim into a vehicle causing a dent on the side of the passenger rear door. During the altercation, the victim suffered injuries to the right palm. Dolly was arrested and taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Brian A. Callison, 44, of Newton, was charged with assault at 5:05 p.m. Aug. 26 in the 900 block of East 12th Street North. According to the Newton Police Department, officers responded to an assault in progress and upon arrival were met by two people. Officers spoke to the victim, who stated Callison hit the victim in the head with his head and pushed her down on the bed. A witness said Callison got in their face and was blowing air in the face as well when he was confronted. Callison claims to have not hit the victim with his head. Callison admitted to smoking meth and marijuana earlier in the day while the occupants were in the home. Officers were told Callison was maced in the face and had a broken nose. While speaking with Callison, officer’s saw no evidence of him being maced or having a broken nose. Callison was arrested and taken to the Jasper County Jail.
