• Matt B. Lanser, 28, of New Sharon, was charged with operating while under the influence at 12:07 a.m. May 25 at the intersection of Highway F62 and T33. According to the Jasper County Sheriff’s office, deputies observed Lanser screaming as he drove past the ballpark in Sully and saw he had a faulty brake light. Lanser was stopped and advised of the faulty brake light. Deputies smelled alcohol on Lanser and observed he had bloodshot, watery eyes. Deputies asked him to perform a field sobriety test. He admitted to drinking alcohol briefly before he was stopped. Lanser failed the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus, the Walk and Turn and was unable to perform the One Leg Stand. Lanser provided the deputies with a sample of his breath that showed a BAC of .153. Lanser was arrested and transported to the Jasper County Jail where he provided a breath sample to the Datamaster which showed a BAC of .158.
