Archie L. Rawlins

Archie L. Rawlins, 83, passed away from Alzheimer’s Saturday, June 1, 2019, in Knoxville, Tenn.

Archie was born Nov. 29, 1935, to Archie and Mildred (Wearmouth) Rawlins. He grew up in Jasper County and graduated from Kellogg High School in 1954. On June 19, 1986, he married Mildred Skaggs and they made their home together in Kellogg. Archie did woodworking as a hobby throughout his life, he even made Jenny a baby bed when she was an infant. He loved to go fishing and tinker around the house. Archie worked 37 years at Maytag, retiring in 1991.

Archie is survived by his wife, Mildred, of Newton; a son, Randy Rawlins of Kellogg; three daughters, Rhonda Rawlins of Kellogg, Jenny (Dan) Marschke and Kerry (Christ) Monroe, both of Knoxville, Tenn.; stepchildren, Gary (Kelli) Skaggs of Newton, Judith Finley of Marshalltown and Jeff Skaggs of Kellogg; grandchildren, Shawna Rawlins, Jialana (Tony) Burrows, Jerin (Kristen) Kaldenberg and Aaron Newman; step-grandchildren, Lisa (Alex) Abuka, Aaron (Nicole) Jones, Brooks Skaggs, Bryce (Rachel) Skaggs, Kyler Skaggs and Corbin Marschke; great-grandchildren, Maverick, Wyatt, Chloe, Caleb and Ty; two sisters, Arlys (Elmer) Shepard and Norma Altemeier, both of Newton; and many nieces and nephews. Those preceding him in death are his parents; and brother, Delmar Rawlins.
