Mustangs finish second at Knoxville

KNOXVILLE — Four PCM boys golfers shot 41 or better at Pine Knolls Golf Club on April 26.

That still wasn’t enough to shoot better than host Knoxville as the Panthers won a home triangular by six shots over the Mustang boys’ golf team.

Andrew Van Ryswyk shot a 39 to finish third overall and Reed Worth, Gatlin Boell and Grant Landgrebe all carded 41s as the final counting scores.

PCM shot a 162 on the day. Knoxville had a 156 after Tyler Vaske carded a 1-under-par 34. Chariton finished third as a team with a 195.

Caleb Greer (46) and Gabe Lanphier (50) had non counting scores for PCM. Brian Nicholson also played on an “independent” team and shot a 52.

PCM played in the Heart of Iowa Conference meet on April 30. The Mustangs compete at 3 p.m. on May 2 in Jewell.

MORAVIA — Playing against 19 other golf teams, PCM finished seventh with a 351 on April 25 at The Preserve at Rathbun Lake.
