Cyclone women rout Sooners

NORMAN, Okla. — Bridget Carleton had 28 points and 10 rebounds for her 18th career double-double to help No. 20 Iowa State beat Oklahoma 91-70 on Wednesday, the Cyclones’ first victory over the Sooners in Norman since the 2013-14 season.

Carleton was 11-of-17 from the field. Kristin Scott added 16 points and four rebounds, Madison Wise had 14 points, four rebounds and four assists, and Ashley Joens tallied 13 points for Iowa State (20-6, 10-4).

Alexa Middleton finished with 10 points, nine assists and five rebounds for the Cyclones, who have won six of their last seven.

Ana Lianusa led Oklahoma (6-19, 2-12) with 20 points. Jessi Murcer and Shaina Pellington each had 14 points.

Iowa State is now 19-0 when leading at halftime.

Iowa State has won 20 games for the 14th time in school history.

Head coach Bill Fennelly won his 499th career game.
