Mustang volleyball loses to North Polk

ALLEMAN — PCM’s volleyball team dropped a Heart of Iowa Conference match to North Polk on Sept. 13 and then went 1-2 in the North Mahaska tournament on Sept. 15.

The Comets swept the Mustangs 25-12, 25-6, 25-17 during conference play.

At the North Mahaska tournament, PCM defeated Sigourney in three sets and then dropped a three-set match to the host Warhawks and were swept by WACO.

Against North Polk, junior Celeste Wagaman had nine assists and three digs, sophomores Celeste Wagaman and Emma Reed both had four kills and senior Avery Stock collected 11 digs.

In North Mahaska’s 18-21, 21-17, 15-7 win over PCM, Wagaman led the Mustangs with four kills, and Reed finished with three. Voeller added eight assists, Stock chipped in five digs and two aces and junior Chloe Inskeep served up three aces.

WACO defeated PCM 21-16, 21-17. In that loss, Voeller had three kills, three aces and six assists. Stock contributed eight digs.

The Mustangs defeated Sigourney 21-15, 15-21, 15-9. Wagaman finished with eight kills and three aces, Voeller had seven assists and four aces and Stock had four digs. Reed blasted four kills.

PCM (4-15 overall, 1-2 in conference play) hosted Gilbert in a HOIC match on Sept. 18. The Mustangs play in the Roland-Story tournament at 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 24 in Story City. They host Greene County at 7 p.m. on Sept. 25 in Monroe.
