First Lutheran hosts corn boil Wednesday

The First Lutheran Church is inviting everyone to its annual corn boil.

The event will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the church’s fellowship hall, 309 E. Third St. N. in Newton. The menu includes sloppy joes, all-you-can-eat sweet corn, fresh garden vegetables, watermelon, cantaloupe and desserts.

The event is free and open to the public. Free will donations will be accepted.
