Jasper County Fair 5K, fun run returns

When the Jasper County Fair rolls around, area harriers will have the opportunity to enjoy a special 5K and 1K kids fun run among the traditional fair activities.

The event will be Sunday, July 22 at the Jasper County Fairgrounds, 335 N. Walnut St. Colfax. The 5K race will begin at 8 a.m. The course will begin at the fairgrounds then loops through town to the Colfax Country Club golf course and will finish back the fairgrounds. The 1K kid’s fun run will begin at 9 a.m. and the run will circle the fairgrounds area.

Prizes will be awarded to the top three males and top three females. All kids who participate will receive a prize. All participants will be entered into a door prize drawing.

Following the race, its on to old fashioned fair fun with the tractor pull and llama show set to begin at 10:30 a.m. and the pedal pull at 1:30 p.m.

Packet Pickup will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 20 at Kinetic Edge or from 7 to- 7:45 a.m. July 22 at the start line on the fairgrounds.
