COLFAX — The Colfax-Mingo softball team needed three rallies to end Belle Plaine’s four-game win streak.

The Tigerhawks rallied from deficits of 1-0, 4-3 and 6-5 to defeat the Lady Plainsmen on Friday night. Colfax-Mingo plated five runs in the bottom of the sixth and won 10-6 during South Iowa Cedar League action.

It was the fourth straight win for the Tigerhawks, who had 16 hits at the plate. Colfax-Mingo has scored at least 10 runs in its last three conference games and is averaging 11.5 runs during the current four-game win streak.

The Tigerhawks are now 11-9 overall and 7-3 in the SICL. Belle Plaine, which had its four-game win streak snapped, dropped to 10-7 overall and 9-3 in conference play.

C-M went back ahead with a two-run fifth inning. Haley started with a double and then went to third on Russell’s groundout.

Gilkison was then hit by a pitch. Doty’s RBI single brought in Haley and Rawlins’ RBI single drove in Gilkison.

The Lady Plainsmen went ahead 6-5 with a two-run sixth inning, but C-M once again answered with a big frame of its own.

The Tigerhawks’ five-run sixth inning included singles by Wilson and Underwood and a walk to Haley.
