4,809 graduates receive degrees at Iowa State University commencement

AMES — At Iowa State University’s spring commencement ceremonies, 4,809 graduates received degrees. Iowa State awarded 4,023 undergraduate degrees, 512 master’s degrees, 144 doctor of veterinary medicine degrees and 130 doctor of philosophy degrees.

Of the students receiving bachelor’s degrees, 1,390 graduated with “With Distinction” (cum laude, magna cum laude or summa cum laude), 108 students graduated both with distinction and as members of the Honors Program.

Newton graduates include Liam Briggs, bachelor of science, computer engineering; Stevi Eggers, Bachelor of fine arts, interior design, Cum Laude; Brennen Ferguson, bachelor of science, computer engineering; Emily Forsyth, bachelor of science, kinesiology and health, honors program member, Summa Cum Laude; Brooke Hamand, bachelor of science, elementary education, Cum Laude; Monica Mulcahey, bachelor of science, technical communication; Grace Perrin, bachelor of science, event management; Patrick Reed III, bachelor of science, kinesiology and health, Summa Cum Laude; Benjamin Schober, bachelor of science, mechanical engineering; Chandler Sturtz, bachelor of science, marketing; and Celeste Welshhons, bachelor of science, management and journalism and mass communication.

Colfax graduates include Carley Hodgson, bachelor of science, supply chain management; Byron Johnson, bachelor of science, environmental science (LAS); Jena Teed, bachelor of science, elementary education, Summa Cum Laude; Jena Teed, bachelor of science, elementary education, Summa Cum Laude; Austin Yoakum, bachelor of science, child, adult and family services; and Austin Yoakum, bachelor of science, psychology.

Monroe graduates include Alek Breckenridge, bachelor of science, mechanical engineering; Hayley Konek, bachelor of science, elementary education; and Sydnie Martinache, bachelor of science, elementary education, Magna Cum Laude.

Other Jasper County graduates include Kathryn Hinshaw of Kellogg, Bachelor of science degrees in microbiology and early childhood education; Lydia Hoeksema of Lynnville, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, veterinary medicine; Ashlee Sellers of Prairie City, bachelor of science, child, adult and family services; Daniel Zimmerman of Reasnor, bachelor of science, mechanical engineering; and Dylan Cross of Sully, bachelor of science, animal science.
