Former Newton resident Robert (Bob) Murphy II, 68, of Fort Worth, Texas, died Tuesday, April 17, 2018, surrounded by his family, after complications from shoulder surgery.
He is survived by four daughters (The Murphy Girls) and their spouses, Kali and Jeff Hofferber of Fort Worth, Texas, Kaci Murphy of Keller, Texas, Kami and Paul Dickey of Burleson, Texas, and Kari and Sandro Garcia of Arlington, Texas. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren, Austin and Adyson Dickey, Madison Murphy, Graciela and Alessandro Garcia and Heath and Kayla Hofferber; his sister, JoAnne Meehl; his mother, Rose Anne Ford; and his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert J. Murphy I; and a sister, Melanie Norene.
Bob loved spending time with his family and his beloved dog, Gismo, studying rocks, watching movies, visiting friends at reunions, keeping up with Facebook and riding his motorcycle with his friend and son-in-law, Jeff.
Visitation will be at noon Saturday, April 21 at Lucas Funeral Home in Keller, Texas, with the funeral immediately following at 1 p.m. Interment will be at Bourland Cemetery in Keller, Texas.
