Terry Ray Owens

Terry Ray Owens, 62, of Newton, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2017, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 27at Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax. Burial will take place at Greencastle Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26 at the funeral home. The son of Charles and Esther E. (Borts) Owens, Terry was born May 15, 1955, in Newton. He graduated from Colfax High School. Terry worked at Stone Container in Des Moines for several years before it closed. Following that, he worked at Walmart in Newton, for the past 17 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching sports on TV and following the Iowa Hawkeyes. Those left to honor his memory include his brother, Duane Owens of Globe, Ariz.; sister, Margaret Edwards of Marshalltown; aunt, Marie Bos; and many nieces, nephews and cousins, including a very special cousin, Tink Brant. Preceding him in death were his parents; sister, Kathy Owens; and nephew, David Edwards.
