George supports progress in Newton

City of Newton voters — I ran for city council in 2011 because Newton was ready to move forward. It was time for the council to take the necessary steps and invest in its future. Since then, the city council has laid the foundation to help Newton grow and prosper. Hard decisions had to be made and with great due diligence, we are seeing some of the work paying off. The city council has taken action to encourage new home construction in order to increase our tax base and invite new families to our town, tore down dilapidated properties and actually have resold these properties in the areas where it is feasible. You can physically see the improvement to our streets and sidewalks around town. The improvements to the equipment and restrooms at the city parks (Maytag, Aurora Heights, Agnes Patterson, Woodland ... etc) have been one of my favorite decisions that we have ever made. You have seen the implementation of our towns marketing plan with the Get to Know Newton Campaign. The future is continuing to look better and better for Newton.

As I step away again from my role on city council I want you to know that Evelyn George has been a strong supporter of this progress. She has been very thoughtful, diligent and has brought a different perspective that I truly have appreciated. I hope you will join me in voting for her as council-at-large.
