Hawks roll past winless Trojans in SICL match

THORNBURG — Lynnville-Sully’s Hawk volleyball team dealt out a 25-18, 25-9, 25-11 loss to host Tri-County on Monday. The Hawks won the South Iowa Cedar League match to even their overall record to 9-9.

Lynnville-Sully was true to form in serving at 94 percent in the match, 76-of-81. McKinley Conover was 14-of-15 with one service ace and Carson Fisk went 14-of-14 with two ace serves. Mallory Loftus also had an ace serve.

At the net, Loftus delivered seven kills and Conover had six kills. Shiloh Cunningham had five kills and one solo block and Krystal Van Dyke had one solo block with three kills.

Korinne Jansen downed four kills and Fisk had two kills. Skyler Young was credited with 18 set assists and one kill. Janelle Rozendaal had five set assists.

Fisk made 18 digs and Conover had 12 digs in the match. Loftus came up with 10 digs and Young had 12 digs. Jansen and Van Dyke each had seven digs.

Lynnville-Sully improved to 4-2 in SICL play. Tri-County dropped to 0-7 in conference action and 0-13 overall.

The Hawks host English Valleys at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in a SICL match in Sully.
