Fine Forgiveness Month ends Saturday at Newton Public library

Inspired by the Newton Public Library’s 25th Jubilee Anniversary, the Board of Trustees wants to forgive and reconnect with long-lost card holders during its Fine Forgiveness Month, ending this Saturday.

All throughout the month of September, the library has been forgiving overdue fees, no matter how much they are and reinstating card holders so they can check-out materials and use the library’s services again. However, this once in a every-25-year opportunity is soon ending and the library would like to welcome back as many patrons as possible before Saturday.

Therefore, the library staff is inviting all card holders to visit the library circulation desk, ask to have their fines forgiven and bring back overdue materials (no matter how overdue). Fine forgiveness is only valid through 2 p.m. Saturday. Call the library at 641-792-4108 if you have questions or stop in.
