Dolmage joins Newton Daily News editorial team

The Newton Daily News has added a new reporter to its editorial department.

David Dolmage is an Iowa native who grew up in rural Dallas county. A 2006 graduate of Drake University, Dolmage has been writing, shooting photos and traveling the world ever since. After graduating from Drake, he moved to Los Angeles, where he received a degree in photography from Santa Monica College. He has since worked as a freelance writer and photographer for a number of publications, both locally and nationwide.

As a freelance journalist Dolmage has covered everything from presidential elections to roller derby bouts and nearly everything in between.

A resident of Des Moines, Dolmage spends most of his free time reading, collecting records, working on a never-ending home remodeling project and attempting to perfect the grilled cheese sandwich.
