Branderhurst receives agricultural accomplishment award

Josie Branderhurst, of Monroe and student at PCM High School, was recently presented the school’s highest agricultural honor the DEKALB Agricultural Accomplishment Award, sponsored by Monsanto Company.

Branderhurst, the daughter of Bryan and Deb Branderhurst, received the award for excellence in academics, leadership and agricultural work experience. Her significant experiences and accomplishments included National Honor Society, September Student of the Month, Iowa FFA Degree, Diamond Trail Chapter Vice President and President.

Amber Samson is Branderhurst’s agricultural education instructor at PCM High School.

This year the DEKALB Agricultural Accomplishment Award celebrates its 70th anniversary. Over these 70 years more than 168.000 high school seniors from across the country have received the Award, which has become a symbol for excellence and the school’s highest agricultural honor.

As the winner of the 2017 Award, Branderhurst’s name will be recorded on a permanent plaque displayed at PCM.
