Tech time set at the library, holiday closings announced

Tech Time

Wednesday, May 24 – 2:00pm to 4:30pm

Do you have tech questions? We can help! Make an appointment for one-on-one help with downloading library ebooks, audiobooks, or music to your tablet or mobile device. Call 641-792-4108 to reserve a time slot.

Holiday Closures

The library will be closed on Monday, May 29th in observance of Memorial Day, and Tuesday, May 30th for staff training. The library will resume normal hours on Wednesday, May 31st.

Summer Reading Kick-Off Picnic

Thursday, June 1 – 4:00pm to 7:00pm

Summer Reading starts June 1st! Bookworms of all ages are invited to visit the Library and register for the library's Summer Reading program and events. A free hotdog picnic for children will be provided on the lawn, while supplies last. All children who register will receive a plastic book bag and a summer reading book log to keep track of the books they read. This is the first opportunity to register for youth summer reading events.

Friday Flicks

Friday, June 2 – 1:00pm

Join us on Friday afternoons for a family-friendly movie in the library meeting room! Bring your own popcorn, beverages are provided. Seating is on the floor, and attendees may bring a pillow if they like. All movies have a G or PG rating. Library policy is that children age 10 and under must have an adult guardian present in the building. The movie for Friday, June 2nd is Moana, 107 minutes.

Adult Coloring

Monday, June 5 – 6:00pm

Relax and unwind with a coloring book! All materials provided, adults only please.

Memoir Writing Workshop

Wednesday, June 7 – 5:00pm

Published author, Gail Kittleson, helps budding writers develop tools and themes for writing their memoirs in this interactive workshop. Feel free to bring your writing questions! This is a great program for writers looking to publish their writing, as well as those who want to preserve their life story for future generations. Call 641-792-4108 to register.

Sir Rustalot Storytime

Friday, June 9 – 10:30am

Join us for a special Newton Fest storytime on the Library lawn! The storytime will be held on the front lawn by Sir Rustalot.

Yoga at the Library

Monday, June 12 – 6:00pm

Certified yoga instructor, Meghan Davis, leads an introductory class for adults. No previous experience necessary! Attendees may bring a towel or yoga mat, if they wish. Please call 641-792-4108 to register.
