PCM boys win golf opener

MONROE — The Prairie City-Monroe boys golf team had no trouble in its season opener Tuesday. The Mustangs had the four top scores on the day, and they defeated Lynnville-Sully, Albia and Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont with ease.

Full results were unavailable at press time, but PCM sophomore Andrew Van Ryswyk won medalist honors with a 38. He played in PCM’s No. 1 varsity position.

Senior Ethan Thomas, who played as a junior varsity golfer, was the runner-up medalist with a 39.

Junior Noah Lanphier was third overall for PCM.

The Mustangs play at 2 p.m. Monday at Bondurant-Farrar.
